Minutes of Town Meetings 1680-1737. Bedford, Westchester County, New York Deeds. Orig. p. [265]. 1736 Map of the Northeast Corner. 1736.
The Northeast Corner was divided in 1736 into twenty-nine parcels, one for each of the patentees listed in the Bedford patent of 1704. These are the names given on the map and in the second column below. But by 1736 most of the patentees had died or transferred their rights. The owners in the actual laying out, where this has been recorded, are given in the fourth column; where a transfer of rights is indicated elsewhere, the name of the probably owner are given in brackets. … The variation in size was probably intended to compensate for the varying quality of the land. [Only the line for William Woolsey is given.]
