17 Feb 1808.        Christopher Chase & Elizabeth of town of Russia, Herkimer Co, NY TO Ephraim Wheeler late from the town of Dover in the County of Dutchess for $600 parcel part of Lot 91 in 3rd allotment of Royal Grant bounded as follows: Beginning at SW corner of William Fannings Lot runing E etc N etc to Elijah Hickleys W line then S etc to Josiah Holladays land then W et S etc to Thomas Northups W line then N etc to beginning 50 acres etc Christopher Case Elizabeth X Chase Wit: Wheaten Dutcher & Oren Clark - Proved 12 Jun 1808 before Westel Willoughby, Jr one of Herkimer Com Pleas etc. Ontario County 5 Jan 1809 came before William Rogers one of the Judges of Ct of Com Pleas for Ontario Co, Elizabeth Chase by testimony of Anna Parker who is well known by me and Elizabeth Chase said she executed the within deed as her free voluntary act etc.

Bailey of same place, parties of 1st part, Martha Bailey of same place widow, party of 2nd part and Joseph Munson of Salisbury, Herkimer Co, NY, party of 3rd part, parties of 1st part for $229.71 by party of 3rd part all right & title of which Theodorus Bailey late of City of New died seized & which descends to his heirs in 5 equal parts to E ½ of land in Herkimer Co, on N side of the Mohawk River in a patent heretofore granted to Sir William Johnson known by the name of Kings land or Royal Grant known as lot 101 in the 4th allotment beginning at SW corner of lot 102 N etc then W etc then S etc then E etc to beginning 200 acres of land & E ½ thereof containing 100 acres etc and the party of the 2nd part for$62.86 all dower and right of dower in above described premises to party of 3rd part. Wheeler of same place of 2nd part, Catharine Wheeler, widow of said Ephraim Wheeler of same place party of 3rd part whereas said Ephraim Wheeler, dec'd died seized of land hereafter described and whereas the said Catherine Wheeler is entitled to an estate of dower in said land, now this indenture witnesseth that parties of 1st part for $4000 by said party of 2nd part, land in Russia being a part of lot 102 in 3rd allotment of the Royal Grant begin at N line of said lot between the lands of Silvanus Ferris & previously described then S etc E etc then S etc W etc then N etc then N E etc to beginning 180 acres therefore the parties of the 1st & 3rd parts set their hands and seals – Edmund Varney, Timothy H. Ferris, Catherine X Wheeler - Wit: Lauren Ford etc. Proved: 30 May 1843.
