PROBATE: In the Name of God, amen. [21 Apr 1779] I Richard Wolsey of Bedford in Westminister County and State of New York, being Weakly in Body But of perfect Mind and Memory Thanks be given unto God, calling to mind the Mortality of my body and Knowing that it is appointed to all Men once to Die, Do make and ordain this My Last Will and Testament That is to Say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend My Soul into the Hand of Almighty God that gave it and My Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent Christian Manner at the Discretion of My Executors Nothing Doubting but at the general Resurection I Shall Receive the Same again by the Mighty Power of God, and as touching Such Worldly Estate Wherewith it has Pleased God to Bless me in this Life I give demise and Dispose of the same in the following Manner and Form:

First I make Daniel Wolsey of New Palze and Jacob Griffin of Fish Kills the Sole Executors of this My Last Will and Testament.

I give to Sarah My well beloved Wife all My Estate During her life and after her Decease to be Divided in the following Manner:
First I give to my Eldest Son Thomas ten pounds New York Money the Rest of my Estate I give to my three Daughters that is Ruth, Sarah and Hannah to be divided Equally Between the three, and I do hereby Utterly disallow Revoke and Disanul all and every other former Testament Wills Legacies Bequests and Executons, by me in any ways Before Named Willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be My Last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto Set My Hand and Seal this twenty first Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Nine.

Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and Declared by the Said Richard Woley as his Last Will and Testament in the Presence of us Who in his Presence and in the Presence of Each other have here to subscribed our names.

[12 Dec 1782] Dutchess County FS Be it remembered that on the twelfth day of Decemb. one thousand Seven hundred and eighty two personally came and appeared before me Thomas Tredwell Judge of the Court of Probates of the State of New York James Clark of Bedford in the County of Westchester yeoman and being duly sworn on his oath declared that he did see Richard Wolley Sign and seal the within written Instrument purporting to be the Will of the said Richard Wooley bearing date the twenty first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and testament. That at the time thereof he the said Richard Wooley was of Sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that his name subscribed to the said will is of his own proper hand writing when he subscribed as a Witness to the said Will in the presence of the Testator and that he the deponent saw Gustes Harris and Betty Clark the other witnesses to the said Will subscribe their names as Witnesses thereto in the Testators presence.

In the name of God, Amen, 16 Aug 1751         I, John Woolsey, Sr., of Bedford, in Westchester County, I direct all debts and funeral charges to be paid. I leave to my wife Sarah, 60 pounds. My farm is to be sold, and all money and book debts and bonds to be put at interest for my son Gilbert, "and the interest to be expended upon him to bring him up to learning, and when he leaves off learning, he is to have the interest till he is of age". If he dies under age, then the estate is to go to my brothers, William, Jonathan, and Richard Woolsey. My brother William and my wife Sarah are to sell all lands, and I make them executors. Witnesses, Samuel Miller, Peter Holmes, Lewis McDonald. Mem.- I leave my wife a horse, saddle and bridle, and a feather bed. Proved, 27 Nov 1751.

5 Jan 1769. [1765? www] William Dusenbury, Harrison's Purchase, in the town of Rye, Westchester Co, WILL. In the name of God, Amen. “I, William Dusenbury, of Harrison's Purchase, in the Town of Rye, in Westchester County, yeoman, being weak in body, but of sound mind, many thanks be to Almighty God, do make this my last will and testament. Dated the 5 day of January, 1769.” “I give and bequeath my precious and immortal Soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Saviour, who first spake it into existence.” My executors are to sell the 30 acres of land which lyeth at the southeast corner of my farm, at Bedford, New Purchase, to pay debts, and the rest of the money I leave to my sons, John and Stephen, so that John may have 50 pounds more than Stephen. I leave to my tender beloved wife Lenah the interest on 100 pounds during her widowhood, also my best bed and the furniture that belongs to it, and one horse, she thinks best, and a saddle and a cupboard, and a large round table, six best chairs, an iron pot and 40 shillings worth of pewter. I leave to my son Henry all my farm in Harrison's Purchase and he is to pay all legacies. My mother, Mary Dusenbury, is to have a good and comfortable living out of my estate. My executors may sell all my movable estate as they think best. I leave to my son William and my daughter Mary 10 pounds each, when my youngest daughter is of age. I leave to my daughters, Dorcas and Hannah, and to my granddaughter, Levina Fowler, 50 each. I make my wife and my son Henry executors. Witnesses: Benjamin Ferris, Josiah Fowler, Samuel Hitt, scrivener. Proved: 15 Feb 1766, b ef ore David Dayton, Surrogate. In the name of God Amen, I Charles Haight of the town of New Castle, Westchester Co, NY – my soul to God – my worldly interests – to my son James that small place in Bedford where my grandson Jinathan Haight now lives in, Also I give the house where I now live in to my said son James, also all my stock of cattle and horses. I also direct that my son James pay to each of my daughter Hannahs children the sum of five pounds excepting Wilmot and Mary etc. I also give my house hold furniture one half to my said son James and the other half to my said daughter Hannahs children to be equally divided between them and all remaining part of Estate both real and personal to my son James excepting fifteen pounds which I give to Rachel my son James wife. 20 Jun 1800.        Joseph Woolsey. Be it known to all men by these presents that I Joseph Woolsey of Bedford in the County of Westchester and State of New York being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make this my last will and testament for the disposal of my estate in the following manner I order my Executors after my decease at their discretion to sell enough of my moveable Estate and lands to pay my just debts and pay them, then I give to my wife Mary the whole use of my Estate as long as she remains my Widow and if she marries then I order all my Estate to be sold or at her decease I order my Estate to be sold by my Executors. Also I give to my son Jonathan at my decease one new Saddle and Twelve pounds five shillings in money to be paid him by my Executors if it should hereafter be thought best by my widow and Executors to sell my land I leave them at liberty to act according to the[ir] discretion - when the time comes for my Estate to be divided it is my Will that it be divided as follows: that my three sons Joseph, Jonathan and Daniel be made equal or each have an equal sum and I give to my daughter Martha two thirds as much of my Estate as either of them. Also I give to my three daughters Mary, Sarah, and Phebe each one half as much as either of my three said Sons. Also I give to my son Richard if he brings no demands against my Estate half as much as one of my three Sons first mentioned and if he does bring any demands and recover the same I give him the sum of five shillings only and lastly I nominate and appoint Samuel Sands of Bedford and James Hall of New Castle Executors and Mary my Wife Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and give them authority to act agreeable to Law in Witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twentieth day of the Sixth month in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred. Signed, Sealed, Published and pronounced by the said Joseph Woolsey as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us Silvanus Gale, Samuel Sarles, James Horton.

Be it remembered that on this Sixth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred personally appeared before me Philip Pell Surrogate of the said county of Westchester, Samuel Sarles of the Town of Bedford in the County aforesaid and being duly sworn on his oath declared that he did see Joseph Woolsey sign and seal the preceeding written Instrument purporting to be the Will of the said Joseph Woolsey bearing the date the Twentieth day of the sixth month (called June) in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament: That at the time thereof he the said Joseph Woolsey of of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the Deponent and that Silvanus Gale, James Horton and the Deponent severally subscribed the said Will as Witnesses thereto in the testators presence. Sarles & Emeline Sarles $250 each, to be paid to them in two years after my disease. – I order & direct my hereinafter named Executors to dispose of in the way they may deem best, etc. all that part of my farm which I purchased of the Estate of Joseph Woolsey, and so much of that part which was given me by my Father as my Executors shall think best, etc.- ¾ to be equally divided amongst my six sons Joseph Sarles, Bailey B . Sarles, Thomas Sarles, Elkanah Sarles, Samuel Sarles and Horation Sarles, etc & the other ¼ equally my daughters Ada Sands, Hannah Sarles, Kesiah Tompkins, Jane Sarles, Lectia M. Sarles & Emeline Sarles, etc, reserving, in the conveyance of the s'd land the use of a Spring of Water brought from a part of it to my dwelling house & at the death of my said wife, etc all the household furniture to be equally divided amongst my daughters, Hannah, Jane, Lectia M. & Emaline. 16 Jan 1834.        William Woolsey of Bedford in the county of Westchester and State of New York being in good health and sound disposing mind and memory yet calling to mind the uncertainty of life do make and ordain this my last Will and testament thereby Revoking all others and first: I order and direct my Executors herein after named to pay all my just debts and fun;eral expences out of any monies I may have on hand at my decease or such as may come into theirs, arising from the Sales of such property as is hereinafter directed to be sold. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Jerusha and her heirs all my Household furniture also I give her in lieu of her right of dower the use and interest of one thousand dollars during her natural life – I order and diredt my Executors to sell at auction or otherwise to best advantage all my Estate both Real and Personal (not already hereinbefore disposed of) and the monies arising from such sales distributed in legacies in the following manner: First to my son Hiram Woolsey and his heirs $1000 to be paid by my executors in one year after my decease – Second I give to my son Charles Woolsey or rather exonerate him and his heirs from the payment of two obligations which I hold against him viz: one of $500 and the other $170 together with all the Interest which may be due thereon. 19 Jul 1848.        Elijah Woolsey of Rye, Westchester Co, NY Minister of the Gospel in comfortable health and of good memory and sound mind for which with all other blessings I am thankful to my maker First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Phebe Woolsey during her natural life the use of my house and Lot situated in the town of Rye bounded by the Road on the West by Joseph H. Gedney on the South by Underhill Halsted on East by David Gedney on the north also my barn etc situated on the west side of said road opposite the house above described and after the death of my wife I give to Phebe Beyea the dau of Samuel Beyea etc Second I give to my wife Phebe the use of $100 & after her decease to Elicta Nilson the dau of Justus and Phebe nilson etc all residue to beloved wife Phebe I appoint my beloved wife Phebe Executrix and Underhill Halsted and John Gedney all of Rye my Exor's. 25 Aug 1856.        Isaac Woolsey of Ossining, Westchester Co, NY to my beloved wife Marietta Woolsey all my property both real and personal during her natural life provided she does not marry and at her decease or at her getting married I give all my said property to my son Alonzo B. Woolsey etc. I appoint my said wife Marietta and my son Alonzo B. Woolsey Execor's The above bequest to my wife is in lieu of dower and what she would have taken of my property if I had died intestate. Wit: Francis Larkin & Abram Hyatt both of Sing Sing, Westchester County, New York. Isaac Woolsey (L.S.) Proved: 2 Sep 1856 before R. H. Coles, Surrogate , came Marinda Woolsey the Extrx named in Will of Isaac Woolsey late of Ossining, de'd & by Abram Hyatt her Proctor & Counsel & satisfactory evidence & Alonzo B. Woolsey the son of the said Testator a minor under 21 are the only heirs Horton R. Platt guardian ad litem of the said minor etc. judged valid, etc.
