Simes and Related Families Genealogy

Two of Robert Simes and Sarah Bucknell's sons, James and John came to Australia in 1855. John came with his wife Elizabeth Johnson and children. James married in Australia to Louisa Sawkins. Louisa was the daughter of Thomas Sawkins and Isabella Able. Thomas Sawkins came to Australia in 1828 as a Miller for the AA Company and married the Australian born daughter of Benjamin Able and GracePearce. Benjamin and Grace had come to Australia with his regiment in 1809.
