Revolutionary War Claims for Reimbursement
Virginia Dodson Revolutionary War Claims for Goods or Services
During the Revolutionary War, individual citizens "donated" goods, voluntarily or not, to the cause. They were given receipts. Most people thought those receipts would be no good and they would never see that money, but Virginia residents were given the opportunity to file these public claims for reimbursement. Payment was not necessarily prompt.
