A Pastor Installed.

A PASTOR INSTALLED.
______

Pleasant Services at the Western
Presbyterian Church.

The services attendant upon the installation of Rev. Theodore S. Wynkoop, as pastor of the Western Presbyterian Church last evening, were witnessed by a large audience. Rev. Dr. Sunderland, as moderator of the Presbytery, presided and delivered an able and suggestive discourse from the words, "Woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel," as recorded in First Corinthians, ix, 16. At the conclusion of the sermon Dr. Sunderland propounded the usual constitutional questions to the pastor elect and to the people, who responded by raising their right hands. The charge to the pastor was given by Rev. Dr. Howe, of Georgetown, and Rev. Dr. Chester gave the charge to the people. The closing installing prayer was made by Rev. Dr. French. After the benediction had been pronounced by the newly installed pastor, the congregation lingered to extend a greeting and welcome to their new minister. Rev. Mr. Wynkoop was the unanimous choice of the congregation, and enters upon this new field of usefulness under the happiest auspices. This is his second pastorate in this country. After graduating from the Princeton Theological Seminary, he was in charge of a congregation in Huntington, L. I., for four years, when he went to India as a missionary. He remained in India ten years, and returned to this country about a year ago.
