Note:

    Apparently, by 1910, the folks in upstate New York felt the Wynkoop clan was getting a bit uppity about their deep roots in this country. They may have been right.

    Although the Wynkoop family has been here since July of 1651, lots of other families, (including the Van Langedyck's), have been here even longer. That doesn't make one family better than another. It's probably not a bad thing, occasionally, to poke fun at yourself once in a while. (Or have someone else do it for you.)

    It's all a matter of perspective.
