EVENTS LEADING
TO MURDER TRIAL
OF DR. WYNEKOOP

    Following are the chronological events that preceded the murder trial of Dr. Alice Lindsay Wynekoop:
    Nov. 21--Rheta Wynekoop's body found on operating table to Dr. Alice Wynekoop's home at 3406 West Monroe street. Police begin questioning of Dr. Alice Wynekoop.
    Nov. 22--Police seek Earle Wynekoop, missing husband of Rheta.
    Nov. 23--Earle Wynekoop returns from Kansas City and is taken into custody; offers alibi.
    Nov. 24--Dr. Wynekoop confesses she chloroformed Rheta while treating her and then, finding her daughter-in-law dead, fired a bullet into her body as the "best way out." Coroner's Jury finds Dr. Wynekoop responsible for Rheta's death.
    Nov. 25--Dr. Wynekoop is ordered to jail by Judge David; she collapses as she enters jail.
    Nov. 27--Dr. Wynekoop repudiates her "confession" from bed in jail infirmary.
    Nov. 29--Dr. Wynekoop is indicted on charge of murder.
    Dec. 4--Case is ordered to trial Jan. 4 in Judge David's court.
    Jan. 4--Trial is continued to Jan. 11.
