HOUR BY HOUR STORY
OF EVENTS LEADING
UP TO THE MURDER

    The following table contains the log of events involving members of the Wynekoop household which witnesses yesterday testified took place on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The testimony was given at the inquest into the murder of Mrs. Rheta Wynekoop, 28 years old. The Log:
    1:30 P. M.--Luncheon, which, according to Dr. Alice Wynekoop, was eaten by herself and her daughter-in-law, Rheta, in their home at 3406 West Monroe street.
    2 P. M.--Dr. Alice Wynekoop left home to shop in the neighborhood.
    3 P. M.--Mrs. R. L. Duncan, a neighbor, meets Mrs. Rheta Wynekoop at the corner of Homan avenue and Madison street. Told by Mrs. Wynekoop that she is going home so Dr. Alice Wynekoop can go out.
    4:30 P. M.--Dr. Alice Wynekoop returns to her home, entering by the front door, and finds that Mrs. Rheta Wynekoop is absent.
    6 P. M.--Miss Enid Hennessey, resident of the Wynekoop home, returns and eats dinner with Dr. Alice Wynekoop. Mrs. Rheta Wynekoop's whereabouts still is unknown.
    7 P. M.--Miss Hennessey is sent to a neighborhood drug store to fill a prescription for Dr. Alice Wynekoop.
    7:10 P. M.--Miss Hennessey returns, chats with the doctor, and then retires to her second floor room.
    8 P. M.--Dr. Alice Wynekoop discovers the body of her daughter-in-law lying on the surgical table in the emergency treatment room in the basement.
    8:05 P. M.--She telephones her daughter, Dr. Katherine Wynekoop, at the county hospital and summons Dr. John M. Berger with another call.
    8:30 P. M.--Dr. Katherine Wynekoop knocks at Miss Hennessey's door and informs her of the murder.
    9:55 P. M.--Undertaker summoned to home telephones to police, giving first alarm.
    10 P. M.--First police squads arrive.
