Burial of Lieut. Wynkoop.

LOCAL AFFAIRS

    Point to rightBurial of Lieut. Wynkoop.--The remains of Lieutenant Nicholas Wynkoop, of the Seventh Pennsylvania Cavalry, who was killed during the engagement at Gallatin, Tennessee, on the 21st of August last, reached this Borough on Wednesday evening last. Col. Wynkoop who had them in charge, arrived here the evening before. On Thursday afternoon the remains were interred with military honors, in the Presbyterian burying ground. Lieut. Wynkoop distinguished himself in the engagement in which he fell, and was mentioned with honor by the commanding general.
