    Upperville, Va., Nov. 28.--The Piedmont Hunt, America's oldest recognized hunt, had a big field and a fine chase for their pre-Thanksgiving meet on Wednesday. The hounds were cast at Miuntville at 10 o'clock. They drew back through Mr. Furr's toward Locust Shade, then westerly toward the mountains and to the lower Beavers farm, where a fox was jumped. The chase took the field across a beautiful country for 45 minutes until the fox was denned back of Unison on the Wynkoop place.
    Among those riding besides the master, Dr. A. C. Randolph, were the Polish Ambassador, Count Jerzy Potocki, who was riding one of Mrs. John Hay Whitney's hunters; Mrs. Whitney, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur White, Mrs. W. G. Langley, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young, Mr. and Mrs. James Van Allen, Mrs. Norman Teorge of Brookville, Long Island; Mrs. George Garrett, Mr. Taylor Hardin, Mrs. Herman Boker, Mrs. Sylvie Hazard, Mr. Jack Skinner, Mr. George Robert Slater, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Winthrop, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Frost, Mr. Henry W. Frost, Mr. A. C. Randolph, jr., Mr. Richard Peach, Mr. Samuel S. Sands, of Long Island; Mr. William Phillips, of New York; Mr. Richard Lake, and Mr. Shirley Piggott.
    Mrs. John Hay Whitney has as her guest her mother, Mrs. Altemus, of Philadelphia.
    Mr. and Mrs. Russell Graham were guests on Thanksgiving Day of Mrs. C. W. Wiltshire.
    Mrs. Robert Fletcher was hostess to the Upperville Bridge Club on Wednesday afternoon.
    Mr. Lewis Armistead attended the coming-out party of his niece, Miss Elizabeth McGuire, which was held at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.
