DEATH OF EX-ALDERMAN WYNKOOP.--Ex-Alderman Wynkoop, of this city, died at his residence, Hestonville, yesterday morning. About a week since he was attacked with the typhoid, which caused his death. He was largely acquainted in West Philadelphia, and had filled various public positions with credit. For many years he was principal of the Mantua Boys' School. Subsequently he was elected alderman of the Twenty-fourth ward. At the time of his death he was way-agent of the Hestonville and Fairmount Passenger Railroad Company. He was about sixty years of age.

Ex-Alderman Wynkoop, although not named in this particular obituary, is Henry Wynkoop, son of Dr. Nicholas Wynkoop, half brother of John Wanshaer Wynkoop and brother of Gen. George Campbell Wynkoop. Richard Wynkoop, in the 1904 edition of the Wynkoop Genealogy in the United States of America, has this to say about him on pages 103-104:
393. Nicholas Wynkoop, M.D., (Judge Henry 157, Nicholas 46, Gerret 5, Cornelius 1,) born March 25, 1770; died March 30, 1815: married, 1st, April 11, 1793, Francenia Murray, who died about 1799, eldest daughter of Gen'l Francis and Martha (Gamble) Murray. Nicholas married, 2d, October 21, 1802, Christ Church, Phil., Sarah Campbell, who died August 21, 1837, daughter of George and Helen (Donaldson) Campbell. Mr. Campbell was Recorder of Deeds, Philadelphia.
724. Henry: b. Feb. 23, 1804: m., 1st, Elizabeth Estill; m., 2d, Catharine Alexander Snell. Henry's second wife, Catharine Alexander Snell, survived him by many years, passing away on July 9, 1896 after falling down a set of stairs in Chicago, Illinois. Chris
