[More...] --THEATRICAL.--"Our American Cousin" continues to draw good houses, and will be repeated tonight--so the bills say--for the last time. It is a very amusing play and well performed; each one in the cast acting his or her character in a manner highly creditable. "The Spitfire" is the first piece this evening. The soldiers of the First Regiment were out in force last evening at the theatre, to the number of from three to four hundred, and appeared to enjoy the thing "muchly." [More...]
ARRIVAL OF THE FIRST REGIMENT.--The gallant First marched into the city at about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, bearing upon their bronzed faces and soiled uniforms evidences of the severe campaign they have undergone. Early in the forenoon the officers who were in town, and a portion of the Third Regiment, started out to meet them; and after dinner, the Governor's Guards and a large number of citizens, on horseback, in carriages, and on foot, preceded by the theatre band went out to Escort them to town.
