Apopletic Attack Threat
Over Woman Doctor,
Medical Men Say.

Chicago, Jan. 20 (AP).--Although the threat of an apopletic [sic] seizure hung over Dr. Alice Lindsay Wynekoop tonight, defense counsel announced the 62-year-old physician insisted her trial on charges of murdering her daughter-in-law, Rheta, be resumed Monday.
"I do not think the defense will ask a postponement," said Frank J. Tyrrell. "Dr. Wynekoop is feeling better now than any time during the trial. The doctor was insistent that we defense attorneys do not attempt to block the trial."
Tyrrell conferred with the defendant for half an hour at the county jail.
"This thing must go on," he quoted Dr. Wynekoop as telling him. He said she wanted the trial over with and that she was confident of an acquittal.
Tyrrell said the defense might ask shorter trial sessions to aid the defendant's condition.
The apoplectic stroke which medical men feared Dr. Wynekoop might suffer could result in death, or paralysis of her entire left side.
While the three physicians appointed by the court to examine her would not discuss findings in advance of a report to the court Monday, it was learned they were inclined to believe there was more possibility of a stroke than death from a heart ailment.
Meanwhile, the jurors began their ninth night locked in the county jail jurors' room, uncertain whether their services would be required after opening of court, Monday."
