    Two men were killed last night in separate traffic accidents in Washington and Alexandria during a rain storm.
    Jesse L. Jackson, 60 of 4640 Benning rd. se., died at 9:30 p. m. at Gallinger Hospital, where he had been admitted three hours earlier with two fractured legs and internal injuries.
    Police said he was struck by a car, driven by Wallace L. Webster, 21 of 37 Florida ave. nw., while crossing the street near his home.
    In Alexandria, Alvin Leigh Wynkeep, [sic] 51 of 1712 S. Nelson st., Arlington, a Gunther Brewing Co. truck driver, was killed instantly by a truck during the downpour.
    Police said he ran out into the street in the 900 block of N. Henry st. about 7 p. m. and was struck by a florist's truck, driven by Everett Jewell, 16, of 308 E. Windsor ave., Alexandria.
    Wynkoop died of head injuries, according to police. His body was removed to the Wheatley funeral home, 809 King st.
    Earlier yesetrday, [sic] two boys were critically injured. One was struck by a car in Washington and the other was hit by a truck in Arlington, Va.

On His Way Home

    Admitted to Sibley Hospital with a fractured skull, fractured left leg and chest injuries was Edward B. Corn, 7, of 1016 Sigsbee pl. ne.
    Police said he was on his way home from the Bunker Hill School about 12:30 p. m. when he was struck at 12th and Taylor sts. ne. The car was operated by Cornelius J. Sullivan, 21, of 1328 Randolph st. ne. Police said the boys apparently ran out into the path of the car from behind a tree.
    Robert Saunders, 3, of 1922 N. Veitch st., Arlington, was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital with a fractured pelvis, possible skull fracture and cuts and bruises.

Hit by Trash Truck

    The Saunders boy was hurt about 11:30 a. m. when he was struck by an Arlington County trash truck in an alley in the 1900 block of N. Vance st. The driver, Walter C. Davis, 27, of 3527 S. 24th st., Arlington, told police he did not know he had hit the boy until one of his helpers yelled to him.
    In Washington, a pedestrian was struck by an Accident Investigation Unit car about 3:50 p. m. at 7th and F sts. nw. while it was responding to an accident at 7th and G sts. nw.
    The pedestrian, Melvin Louis, 50, of 2700 Connecticut ave. nw., was admitted to Casualty Hospital. He was cut on the face and forehead.
    The police car was driven by Pvt. John J. Bobinger, 30, of 5429 Tilden rd., Sunnybrook, Md., police said.
