THE APOLLO.--Material changes have been wrought in the interior appearance and condition of the Apollo Theatre, within a few days, and the place is now far more cheerful and comfortable than ever before. The walls have been whitened, and the ceiling overhead made more inviting. On Saturday evening The Dumb Boy of the Pyrenees was performed before a crowded house. A larger number of ladies were present than we have ever before seen, at the theatre, and under the influence of their presence the company all seemed encouraged to extra exertion. Mrs. Langrishe, as the "Dumb Boy," was the attraction of the evening. In parts like this she is peculiarly happy, and her efforts on Saturday night were crowned with the most complete success. Mr. Langrishe, Richmond, Hunter and Dougherty, each contributed largely to the perfection of the representation. Miss Flora Wakely danced, and the evening's entertainment closed with a roaring farce.

CAPTURE OF WATERS, THE SUSPECTED MURDERER.--Mr. Shortridge returned to this city on Saturday morning last, by the Western Stage, having in charge Pat Waters, who was arrested near Cottonwood Springs. It was an easy matter to track Waters along the entire route, as he had disposed, at nearly every ranch, of some one thing or another, known to have belonged to the missing man, Freeman. Last evening at 5 o'clock, a party of men left for the scene of the supposed murder, taking along with them Waters, who denies that he killed Freeman, but claims to know who did the deed.
It is our candid opinion that when he arrives in the vicinity of the spot where Freeman was last seen alive, Waters will be more communicative. The soft winds sighing through the spreading branches of the stately cottonwood, will prompt him to open his lips early and earnestly. It is understood that Waters implicates two others in the murder; but we shall know more of this matter when the party returns to-morrow.
