MOUNTAIN CITY, Dec. 11, 1859.
The Military meeting was held according to call. S. B. Thompson was called to the Chair, and A. Miller elected secretary. A list was opened, and over a hundred persons enrolled. It was unanimously declared that the name of the company shall be the "Rocky Mountain Rangers," after which the following officers were elected:--
Captain--John H. Kehler.
1st Lieutenant--J. J. Storms.
2d Lieutenant--A. Miller.
3d Lieutenant--R. E. McBride.
1st Sergeant--George McLean.
2d Sergeant--Henry Pheger.
3d Sergeant--W. Norwood.
1st Corporal--W. C. Cozens.
2d Corporal--H. B. Eighmey.
3d Corporal--W. H. Goble.
Inspector of Arms--Wm. W. Atkins.
Quarter Master--W. H. Norton.
Surgeon--S. B. Thompson.
A set of bye-laws for the government of the company were offered and adopted.
It was agreed that this company keep up a regular organization, and protect each other in their rights of property in the coming spring; and to resist any attempt at an unlawful or unjust taxation.
After which the meeting adjourned to meet again on Sunday next at 2 o'clock P. M. A. MILLER, Secretary.
