________
CHICAGO. Dec. 28. (AP)--John Van Pelt, 69-year-old witness in the Wynekoop murder mystery, who has been mysteriously missing for the past ten days, appeared at the Fillmore Police Station tonight and told police he had been kidnaped.
The former Wynekoop handy man who was not at the family residence the night Rheta Wynekoop's body was found shot and chloroformed on the operating table in Dr. Alice Wynekoop's office, told Capt. Ryan that two men he believed physicians had taken him from his home and kept him prisoner in lake front hotels for the period of his absence.
Capt. Ryan said Van Pelt's story will be thoroughly investigated.
