Exciting News from Fort Garland.

Major E. W. Wynkoop informs us that an express rider arrived in town last evening, bringing news of "a Rise" on the part of the Secesh portion of the New Mexicans near Fort Garland. They had besieged the Fort, and declared their purpose to avenge the death of the Espinosas and other Mexicans who were killed during the Summer. The express man had only just arrived in town, and he could not give us any further particulars, but was expecting orders to march to the relief of the Fort in the morning. Major Wynkoop gave us the information at nine o'clock last evening. Singularly enough, up to midnight we failed to obtain any verification of the facts at head quarters, where everything was quiet, as two persons engaged in the intricate game of chess and another reading the Atlantic Monthly would naturally be.
