Another Man Shot.
Another Man Shot.

Another Man Shot.
_________

This afternoon about 3 o'clock, a man familiarly known as "Buckskin" had a difficulty with Thomas Evans, near the St. Charles Saloon, in the course of which the latter drew a knife and inflicted several slight wounds upon the former, whereupon Buckskin drew a revolver and fired at Evans. The ball, instead of hitting Evans, struck a colored man named Edwin Morris, who stood near, passing through his heart and killing him instantly. Poor Ned Morris, whose quiet and accomodating manners had won for him hosts of friends, had only fifteen minutes before his death, received some $17,00 from Mr. Slocum, with which to make the last payment for his freedom. The case is a most aggravated one, and we sincerely hope that the severest penalty of the law will be dealt out to the parties connected with this outrage. Further comments to-morrow.
