Special to The Washington Post
Hagerstown, Md., Mar. 16.--Displaying heroism and presence of mind, Miss Fannie Wynkoop saved the life of her sister, Mrs. H. B. Allen, ill in bed at her home in Brunswick, by picking up a blazing coal-oil stove, which had been burning in the sick room, carrying it out of the house and throwing it into the yard.
Too weak to leave her bed, Mrs. Allen, when she saw the oil stove was a mass of flames, screamed for help. Her sister rushed into the room, the interior of which had just become ignited, and grabbed up the blazing stove and carried it out, sustaining painful burns in doing so.
