FRANK MURRAY WYNKOOP

COLORADO SPRINGS. April 9
(AP)--Frank Murray Wynkoop, whose father was one of the founders of Denver, died in a Colorado Springs hospital today at the age of 83.
He was the son of Col. Edward Wanswer Wynkoop, Denver's first sheriff, who suggested naming the city in honor of Gen. James W. Denver, early Governor of Kansas.
Mr. Wynkoop was born in Philadelphia. He was in the printing business in Denver and in 1898 published The Herald in the then thriving mining town of Bland. He later worked on other newspapers in Colorado and in New Mexico and California.
