Once beautiful, now "hideous to behold," according to her own analysis of her reflection in the mirror, Mrs. Nina Clampitt has sued Dr. Harry R. Enlow and Dr. Elizabeth Tompkins, dermatologists, for $50,000 damages.
"Mrs. Clampitt is a sight," said H. E. Wynekoop, her attorney. "She has a face that is hideous, and she was once a pretty woman. The paraffin that the doctors injected into her cheeks has matted in spots and her cheeks are great lumps that some doctors tell her may cause cancer. He believes that the defendants know nothing about such work, and she is prosecuting to save others as well as to get damages."
"I can't see anybody. I wouldn't have anybody, even my best friend, see my face, for I am too proud. I had hollows in my cheeks and they injected paraffin until now it has curdled and I am full of lumps, hollow streaks, and lines," said Mrs. Clampitt.
