A FEW ENTRIES IN RECENT SOCIABILITY RUN

Twenty-eight Saxons which made the run to Rock Point...


A part of the twenty-eight Saxons which made the run to Rock Point and return last Sunday as they were lined up for the start in front of the Record Auto Company.

    Dr. W. F. Andrews, driving a Saxon "six" roadster, won first prize in the Saxon sociability run last week to Rock Point. The secret time was 2 hours and 43 minutes. The winner covered the 55 miles in 2 hours and 42 minutes.
    George D. Mitchell captured second prize, G. F. Hoge the third and George A. Berry the fourth.
    W. R. Ehrmantraut won the prize in the six-cylinder class in the economy run, making 110 miles on 4 gallons and 1� pints of gasoline.
    In the four-cylinder class R. Woodward and W. Wyncoop were tied, both using 3 gallons and 2 quarts. R. Woodward won the toss and a Firestone tire.
    The first prize in the time contest was a silver loving cup, the second a set of seat covers, donated by the Gates Manufacturing Company; the third a drum of Wolfshead oil and the fourth a set of Express spark plugs. The prize for the gasoline contest was a leather covered thermos luncheon set.
    Twenty-eight cars participated in the run. All of the contestants, their friends and officials were guests of the Record Auto Company at dinner.
    Every car in the event was a Saxon.
    The list of entries was as follows: August Lederick, George D. Mitchell, James H. McAllister, F. L. Hawley, George A. Berry, Albert E. Dieterich, Charles Schlosser, J. F. Hammer, Dr. W. C. Welburn, Miss Mildred Hoge, J. M. Stein, Louis Hartig, Edward Lawman, J. H. Durand, Walter Leaman, C. N. Thompson, W. R. Ehrmantraut, A. B. Molneax, W. F. Cush, Dr. W. F. Andrews, R. W. Woodward and Charles Zanner. In addition to the above there were six official cars, including the pilot car, the judges' car, the starter's car, the service car and two cars from the Record Auto Company.
