Rev. Theodore Wynkoop, Secretary of the English and American Bible Society, returned to the city Tuesday with his wife after five years' absence in India. During this period Mr. Wynkoop has had his headquarters at Alahalaba, India, and spent his summers in the mountains in active work among the native tribes, many of whom have embraced Christianity. He has established missions throughout all the regions roundabout. For this work of evangelization Mr. Wynkoop has enjoyed the hearty co-operation of his wife, formerly Miss Mollie Mason Dodge, of Georgetown.
