The Spiritual Science Church of Christ

One of the most interesting church congregations of Washington is that of the Spiritual Science Church of Christ, located at 1502 Fourteenth street northwest, in the Studio of Arts. Pastor, Mrs. Jane B. Coates. The Spiritual Science Church of Christ has been organized to advance the scientific nature of spiritualism. It has a large congregation and is planning to erect a regular church building for the Spiritualists of the city.
Associated with the church is a spiritual science service club, organized for the purpose of banding together those interested in the doctrine of Spiritual Science and to aid the work of the pastor, Mrs. Coates, who is known as the founder of this doctrine of Spiritual Science.
The principal tenets of the Spiritual Science doctrine set forth:
That modern spiritualism is the accumulation of vast knowledge of two worlds.
That it is the scientific, rational explanation for man.
That it is uplifting, energizing, soul satisfying and developing.
That it is a science as well as a religion.
That all planes of life are but various states of being and can be entered at will, providing that man is properly developed.
And that it seeks to develop man to the highest and best within him through the knowledge of the laws of vibration, correspondence, rhythm, the law of gender and man's relation to the infinite mind of nature which lives, moves and has its being within all that it has created--God.
