--The sea serpent has been seen near Dead Creek, or Scomotion, and one of the party was so frightened that he fainted away. A messenger was sent to Plattsburgh for one of the Plattsburgh rifle corps to come over and shoot the monster.

--No excursion party on the lake this summer is considered a success without a view of the Lake Champlain sea serpent. The steam yacht Jessie, with a party from Cohoes, made a trip on the lake last week, and saw the serpent, and the Whitehall Times says one of the men got a whack on the nose with the reptile's tail. The nose was awful red!

--Charles E. Chase, commander of the Jersey City Canoe Club, and of the canoe Bubble, in which he, last year, made a trip of over 2,000 miles, is now on his way to Lake Champlain. CAMPING AT LADD'S POINT.

Camp Loomis broke up on Tuesday and the large party returned looking very tough and hearty, and report a most successful campaign. Boating and fishing has been among their chief recreations, which all enjoyed hugely. All have big fish stories to tell, which have the merit of being true, as the fishing in the vicinity was never better.
On invitation Photographer Bigelow, of Plattsburgh, joined the party, and while there made numerous and excellent views.
Among the incidents of the campaign was the appearance of the lake monster, called the sea serpent, while two of the young men were out rowing. They were considerably alarmed, and pushed for the shore with all possible speed. Their description of the creature compares with the one seen in St. Albans Bay, and there is not a particle of doubt that there is some sort of animal of large proportions, perhaps a number of them, inhabiting the lake.
