PLANT RAID YIELDS STILL
___________

Much Liquor and Mash Found by Federal Officers in
Supposed Business House

___________

Breaking down the doors of a supposed industrial plant located on a plot at 4800 South Santa Fe avenue, Federal prohibition agents yesterday discovered a 800-gallon still in operation, twelve 500-gallon vats of mash fermenting, 200 gallons of whisky in barrels and five demijohns of liquor, they reported to Federal Prohibition Director Frith.
As they approached the place, Chief Field Agent Wynkoop declared, a man who presumably had been operating the still fled from the building and escaped.
Federal agents also took into custody Harvey Hoover, 5639 Sunset Boulevard, asserted to have cloaked his liquor enterprises under the pretext of operating a beauty parlor. A quantity of liquor is asserted to have been taken from his establishment.
Surprised when suddenly pounced upon by prohibition agents on Wilshire Boulevard. R. J. Gideon, 1127 Wilshire Boulevard, was reported by Federal officers to have admitted he had liquor in his apartment and in his automobile. The Federal agents reported they found fifteen gallons of alcohol, six gallons of gin and two cases of bottled liquor in the apartment.
