Building permits were issued yesterday as follows: J. A. Wynkoop, two-story brick stable, in rear 124 to 128 D street southeast, $1,000; Dr. Richardson, addition to 1102 L street, $2,500; Maj. S. H. Walker, 2535 Seventh street road, wagon shed, $50; Caroline Bowie, repairs to dwelling north side Stanton road, between Sheridan and Hillsdale, $60.
    The Commissioners yesterday managed to identify some of the portraits of Mayors found recently in the old District offices. They are James G. Berrett, Peter Force, R. A. Wrightland, John W. Maury, James W. Blake, Carberry, and Towers. Two others yet remain to be identified.
    A catch basin will be constructed at the southwest corner of Fourth and A streets southeast; cost $70.
    Ten catch basins will be constructed in G street northwest, between Tenth and Fourteenth streets; cost $700.
