Wynkoop Henry Rubinkam of 1560 East Sixty-first street has been decorated with the French war cross for bravery displayed in driving his ambulance during a recent battle in France. Mr. Rubinkam is 23 years old and was a junior at the University of Chicago. He has won numerous medals and trophies in athletic events at the university, at Keewatin academy and at Hyde Park High school. He is now a member of unit No. 13 of the American ambulance field service and was decorated yesterday by Gen. Gourand during a review of troops. Benjamin F. Butler and J. M. Grierson Jr. of New York and Brownlee B. Gould of Toledo, O., were also awarded the war cross.
