DRY RAIDERS ARREST FIVE
___________

Two Stills, Bottling and Labeling Plant and 250
Gallons of Moonshine Seized

Federal prohibition officers under Chief Field Agent Wynkoop yesterday made five arrests, confiscated two large stills, "knocked over" a bottling and labeling plant and seized more than 250 gallons of moonshine whisky.
    M. A. Morrison was arrested at 1621 West Pico street, where the raiding agents declared they found a distilling plant hidden in a subterranean cavern between the house and garage. A 200-gallon still was seized, together with 200 gallons of moonshine and ninety-two fifty-gallon barrels of mash. Morrison was arraigned before United States Commissioner Head and held in $2500 bond.
Fifty gallons of whisky and large quantities of sugar and mash were found, the officers reported, at 1150 Mansfield Place in Lennox, where John D. Ulroy, alias John D. Reynolds, was arrested. A 250-gallon still which was being set up, but was not in operation, also was confiscated. Ulroy was held in $2000 bond by Commissioner Head.
George Miller and Sam Crawford were arrested by Federal agents in co-operation with local police at 3414 Long Beach avenue, where it was said a complete bottling and labeling plant was in operation. Four cases of beer, two gallons of moonshine and two gallons of gin were seized. Government and police officers also co-operated in the arrest at 3105 South Central avenue of Arthur A. Austrian. A case of gin and an automobile were confiscated in the raid.
