HISSES FOR WITNESS IN RUM TRIAL

Federal Agent's Testimony
Rouses Ire of Suspects in
Outlining Capture.
___________

Angry mutterings that emanated from the defence table yesterday greeted John H. Wynkoop, chief field agent of the Federal prohibition forces, when he took the stand in the court of United States Judge McCormick to testify against Anthony Amador and Rene Guerrini, nephew and uncle, respectively, who were accused of violating the Volstead Act.
Subdued hisses from the rear of the room where Mrs. Guerrini was sitting was added to the muttering, and it was only by strenuous effort that Defense Attorney J. C. Chapman was able to quiet his clients.
Amador pleaded guilty and Guerrini not guilty as a prelude to the proceedings, and after the former had related his version of the story of how, on March 30, last, at his uncle's home, 704 Boyle avenue, he had been approached and asked to "contribute" some wine to a party. Wynkoop was called in rebuttal.
The chief dry operative accused the two men and Mrs. Guerrini of smashing a five-gallon bottle of wine and his remark provoked the outburst.
Amador was fined $100 on each of two counts and Guerrini $50 each on each of two counts of sale and possession, Guerrini's machine, which was used to transport the liquor, will be confiscated, according to Asst. U. S. Atty. Neville, who presented the government's case.
