LOCAL MATTERS.

COMPANY B, COLORADO VOLUNTEERS.--Yesterday, Captain SAM. TAPPAN'S company, numbering 101 men, arrived here from the mountains, and went into quarters on F street. The men look hale and hearty, and are in excellent spirits. Our streets to day present a lively appearance, and the governor's review this afternoon will doubtless be an interesting occasion, if the weather is good.

CHAMPAIGNE PARTY.--We failed to allude yesterday to the generous "lay out" given by the officers of Company A, to a score or more of their friends on Tuesday evening last. Generous wine, song and story, served to wear away the evening most pleasantly. We express but the wish of a majority of our citizens, in the hope that in all the varying fortunes of war, they may meet with good fortune and success. The people of Denver will watch with interest the course of Company A and its gallant officers, wherever duty or the call of their country may lead them--knowing that they will render a good account of themselves and reflect honor upon the "City of the Plains," from which they have gone forth to protect and uphold the glorious old flag.

DR. W. H. FARNER.--This gentleman, who has acted as Examining Physician for the Colorado Volunteers, will leave in a day or two for Fort Garland, where he will probably soon enter upon his duties as a regular army surgeon. DR. FARNER was formerly a surgeon in the navy, and has enjoyed an extensive experience in hospital labor and private practice. His success in this city has gained for him the confidence of all who have employed him. He is skillful, well read, and never neglects his patients. Our best wishes for his continued health and success, go with the Doctor in his new field of labor, and we doubt not his numerous friends in this city will join us in this expression.
