Federal Attorney Seeks
Third Indictment Against
John S. Farnsworth

WASHINGTON. Aug. 5. (AP)--Summoning new witnesses from the Pacific Coast, Asst. U. S. Atty. Beach asked a Federal grand jury today to return a third indictment against John S. Farnsworth, Naval Academy graduate already charged with betraying military secrets.
The former lieutenant commander, who was dismissed from the service after a court martial in 1927, already faces a Federal court trial on two charges--delivering and attempting to deliver confidential naval information to Japanese agents.
Two navy officers, Lieutenant Commander Thomas P. Wynkoop and Lieut. William S. Pye, flew to Washington from their Pacific Coast stations to testify. Formerly on duty at Annapolis, Nye now is stationed at San Pedro, Cal., while Wynkoop's post is at the Bremerton (Wash.) navy base.
