DIES IN JAPANESE CAMP
Maj. Hueston R. Wyncoop Had
Been Captured on Bataan
Maj. Hueston R. Wyncoop, who was captured on Bataan, died recently in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp, according to a War Department announcement to his widow, Mrs. Mary G. Wyncoop, daughter of Lieut. Gen. George Grunert, former commander of the Eastern Defense Command.
Major Wyncoop, who was assigned to an infantry unit, was graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1937. In June, 1940, he was promoted to first lieutenant, and in September of that year he was made a captain. His promotion to major came while he was a prisoner of the Japanese. He was 32 years old.
