LOCAL AFFAIRS.

Point to rightMilitary Affairs.--About 150 recruits for Nagle's, Christ's and other regiments, left here on Monday, for Harrisburg.
Capt. J. Seibert is recruiting a company for Col. George Wynkoop's regiment of cavalry.
Assistant Surgeon H. Weber has been ordered to one of the new gunboats, recently launched at New York. He left here on Saturday for his post of duty.
Dr. John Carpenter paid a brief visit to his home this week.
We understand Col. Christ's Regiment is nearly made up, perhaps by this time is complete, and under marching orders.
Capt. Brandt's company of Llewellyn, we understand, was the first from this County, uniformed and mustered into the three years' service. This company and that of Capt. Burkert of Schuylkill Haven, are connected with Colonel Christ's regiment. Three companies of this regiment are from Reading, two from Potter county, two from Bradford and vicinity of Bradford Co.
The energy displayed by the officers of this regiment cannot be too highly commended.
Col. Christ during the three months' service, exhibited a high degree of administrative ability, and much of the deliberation, coolness and decision necessary to a military officer, and being a gentleman of very clever abilities as a speaker and writer, he will be perfectly competent to meet the enemy either in diplomacy, with the pen, upon the stomp, or on the battle field. The Col. we understand, is a popular officer, and must always have the esteem of all who appreciate worth, courage and intelligence.
