CALLED TO ASSEMBLY'S CHURCH.
_______

Rev. Asa Wynkoop, of Orange, N. J., May
Come Here as Pastor.

The congregation of Assembly's Presbyterian Church, at Fifth and I streets northwest, has issued a call to Rev. Dr. Asa Wynkoop, of Orange, N. J., to accept the pastorate of that church to succeed Rev. George O. Little, who tendered his resignation as pastor several months since.
The members of the church and of the congregation are extremely anxious that Dr. Wynkoop should accept the call, and a committee, consisting of Mr. O. B. Brown, A. M. McBath, L. C. Williamson, J. M. Foster, and Judge Ivory G. Kimball, have been appointed to arrange the matter. Mr. Brown and Mr. McBath will also urge the question before the Washington Presbytery. Dr. Wynkoop occupied the pulpit at Assembly's Church last July and made a deep impression upon the congregation. He is a young man of much ability, a fluent speaker, and very popular. He was also a classmate of Rev. Howard Wilbur Ennis, pastor of the Western Presbyterian Church, of this city.
