Hurt as Sprayer
Blows Up in Face

    Santa Monica Police yesterday reported a freak accident in which a garden sprayer blew up while Ted H. Wynkoop, 48, was pumping up the pressure tank.
    Wynkoop was treated at the Santa Monica Hospital for severe lacerations of the nose and face and an injured left wrist.
    The blast sent parts of the metal sprayer all over Wynkoop's back-yard garden at 2201 Alta Ave., Santa Monica. The handle struck Wynkoop in the face, breaking his glasses and causing his major injuries.
