    These records were collected by me at the Presbyterian Historical Society at 425 Lombard Street in Philadelphia, in the fall of 1997. I was given the privilege of actually handling the earliest record book for Abington Presbyterian Church, a small volume bound in vellum with heavy parchment pages. Quite an experience.

    The records that grace these pages were transcribed by me from microfilm copies of their records and the more recent registers that have yet to be filmed. Any errors that may have crept in are strictly my own. None of this material comes from previously published transcripts of these records. All of these records come straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
