John Beatty, the grandson of Judge Henry Wynkoop, late in the 1800s and following in the tradition of his grandfather, created four separate genealogies detailing the descendants of Judge Henry Wynkoop into the late 1800s. Here you will find many unreported stories about Judge Henry's family. These were written into two small record books, about 3 x 6 inches and a third, which was copied by another relative, torn up and restored at some later point in time. The fourth one was preserved in the form of a transcription by Mary Mays Beatty, dated September 4, 1917. The original of these records may be found in the collection of the Spruance Library of the Bucks County Historical Society in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. These books are listed in a somewhat different order than the original numbering that Mary Mays Beatty supplied. This new order is based on internal evidence and the greater certainty John Beatty showed about names and dates as he progressed from one written record to another. Below you'll find some background notes on John Beatty, placing him in the Wynkoop Genealogy. (Note the difference in spelling.) Notes from the 1904 edition of Richard Wynkoop's Wynkoop Genealogy in the United States of America:
