Funeral for Dorothy Leone (Wynkoop) Orahood Hawkins, 87, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 1991, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Reverend Wayne Fite of Ardmore will be officiating. She was born May 7, 1903, in Caddo County, I.T., to Harry Alexander Wynkoop and Maude (Parish) Wynkoop who moved to Oklahoma from Lebanon, Indiana in 1903. She was their first child born in Oklahoma. Mrs. Hawkins died Sunday, March 31, 1991. She married Adelbert Wayne Orahood in 1922 who preceded her in death in 1939. She married William Lester Hawkins in 1944 who preceded her in death in 1953. Mrs. Hawkins worked for Western State Hospital in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma, retiring in 1964. Mrs. Hawkins was a long time member of the Baptist Church and was a member of the Cypress Creek Baptist Church. She was prededed in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Orahood) Lyell, one son, Harry A. Orahood, four grandchildren, Vicki (Orahood) Wilcox, Cheryl (Orahood) Woodruff, Charles Barry Lyell, and Sheridan Dawn Lyell, and three great grandchildren. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
