Dear Colonel
I send you enclosed a letter from Morrison my Scout, which speaks for itself, probably ere this poor old Raven and Satanta have been put to death, another chapter of horrors to add to the damnable infamy, Another disgrace to the country and blot upon our flag; Old Raven who never in his life under any circumstances raised his hand against a white man, to whom you Commissioners owe so much for what he did at Medicine Lodge Creek, this caps the climax of infernal atrocity, I will be damned if I dont desert my country forswear Christianity and become a Mahometan if this state of affairs continue and is endorsed by the Government; show the letter to the Commissioners.
I am going to have that Society of the Cooper Institute, headed by old Peter Cooper, and a similar organization composed of the principal men including the Quakers here, send in a Memorial to Congress protesting against the transfer of the Indian Bureau to the War Department.
I send you my Photograph you asked me for, will be in Washington on Tuesday,

Truly Yours

E W Wynkoop
