Died, March 29, 1814, Dr. Nicholas Wynkoop, near Brookfield, Montgomery County, Maryland. He was the eldest son of Henry and Susanna Wansher Wynkoop. Aged 45.

Died, January 4, 1830, Edward Donaldson Wynkoop, 4th child of Nicholas and Sarah Campbell Wynkoop, in Philadelphia, Pa. Aged 17 years.

Died, July 1, 1837, at the residence of his brother, George C. Wynkoop, Pottsville, Schuylkill Co., Pa., John Wansher Wynkoop. Aged 43 years.

Died, August 21, 1837, in Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Sarah Fry, widow of Dr. Nicholas Wynkoop, and consort of Henry Fry, Esq., and 4th child of George and Helen Donaldson Campbell. Aged 60 years.

Died, December 8, 1841, Mary I. Wynkoop, fifth child of George C. and Mary Ann Wynkoop. Aged 3 years and 8 days.

Died, June 28, 1847, Mrs. Elizabeth Lee Walker, widow of E. S. Walker. Aged 61 years. She died at the house of her son-in-law, George C. Wynkoop.

Died, August 21, 1862, Nicholas Wynkoop, first child of George C. and Mary Ann Wynkoop. He was shot through the breast, in a fight with the rebel, John Morgan, at Gallatin, Tenn. He had a Lt.'s commission in the 7th Penna. Cavalry; He was brought to Pottsville, Pa., and buried. Aged 30 years.

Died, January 3, 1859, at Hamburg, Berks Co., Pa., Elizabeth Wynkoop Heebner, wife of George W. Heebner, and eldest daughter of Geo. C. and Mary Ann Wynkoop. Aged 26 years.

Died, November 29, 1881, at 5 o'clock, P.M., Martha W. Paxson at the residence of her husband, Jonathan Paxson, South Manheim Township, Schulykill Co., Pa.; She was the eighth child of Geo. C. and Mary Ann Wynkoop. She was buried December 2, 1881, at Schuylkill Haven Cemetery.

Died suddenly, September 29, 1882, at 4 o'clock in the morning, Gen. George C. Wynkoop, at his residence in Morris Addition; son of Dr. Nicholas Wynkoop of Maryland. He was buried in Pottsville, Pa., on Monday, October 2, 1882. He was in his 74th year.

Died, August 4, 1888, at 10 o'clock in the morning, Mary A. Wynkoop, at her residence in Morris Addition; Daughter of Elijah Walker and widow of George Wynkoop, in her 73rd year.


    Notes from Richard Wynkoop's 1904 edition of Wynkoop Genealogy in the United States of America:

    725. George Campbell Wynkoop, Gen'l, (Dr. Nicholas 393, Judge Henry 157, Nicholas 46, Gerret 5, Cornelius 1,) born February 27, 1806: died September 29, 1882, in Pottsville, Penn.: married March 24, 1831, Mary Walker.
    He was one of the four brigadiers from Pennsylvania, in the 3 months service, during the war for the Union. Afterwards, he commanded the 7th Penn. Cav., in Tennessee, where his son, Nicholas, was killed.
    He lived in Pottsville, and was elected sheriff, in 1867, on the Republican ticket.
