Wynkoop Homesteads
There are a surprising number of old Wynkoop Homesteads still in existence even today as well as a number of places around the United States named after family members. The most famous of course is the original family homestead in Hurley outside of Kingston, New York. This home was featured in the movie "Tootsie", (Columbia Pictures, 1982), starring Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange and Charles Durning. Charles Durning's home in upstate New York, about 1 hour into the film, is actually Cornelius Wynkoop's homestead. It appears onscreen for about 20 seconds or so. Some of the interior bedroom scenes were shot there too. Looking forward to hearing from you. Chris
