Notes: 1120. James M.: d. in 1868, in Zanesville. He lived in the South, and served in the Rebel army, and was in the engagements at Pensacola and Pittsburg Landing; and, at Murfreesboro, he was taken prisoner.
    He had been a member of the 1st Reg. Ohio Vol., in the war against Mexico.
    Author/editor of Anecdotes and Incidents: Comprising Daring Exploits, Personal and Amusing Adventures of the Officers and Privates of the Army, and Thrilling Incidents of the Mexican War, Pittsburgh, 1848. [132 p.]2

Notes: Isaac died in a wagon accident November 22, 1877. His tombstone lists his date of birth as 1812. His obituary told little of his ancestry other than being an early settler of the county.
    However he had married Margaret Snyder (born Cumberland Co, Pa 1-23-1819) on 3-26-1839 in Stark/Wayne Co, Ohio. The obit lists Isaac as born June 1812 in Cumberland Co, Pa. They came to Putnam Co, Ohio in 1845. It also states that her husband's father was in the Revolutionary War and her husband served throughout the Mexican war as lieutenant, captain and colonel.3, 4
