Wynkoop. Became member volunteer fire department, Detroit, 1857, and joined the paid department, 1860; engaged in retail grocery business; was appointed assistant chief of the fire department; became clerk in assessor's office, 1866, and bookkeeper for Gillett & Hall, and in 1876 was admitted as partner, remaining until dissolution of the firm, 1898; member of firm of Carson, Craig & Co. since Jan. 1, 1898. Fire commissioner, Detroit, 1893-97. Member Detroit Board of Trade. Independent in politics. Mason (32�). Office: 304 Chamber of Commerce. Residence: 181 Alexandrine Av.
