Description:

This database contains the 1952 directory for the cities of Stockton and Lodi, located in San Joaquin County, California. The directory is comprised of several sections including a buyers' guide, an alphabetical list of names, a directory of householders including a street and avenue guide, and a numerical telephone directory. The buyers' guide includes advertisements and business cards of many businesses as well as a classified business directory. In addition to listing the names of the heads of households, the alphabetical list of names portion of the directory also lists the spouses' names, occupations, and addresses. The directory of householders is arranged in numerical order of the numbered streets and alphabetical order of the named streets. The telephone directory lists in numerical order the telephone numbers and names of residents to which the numbers correspond.
