Hi, I am Renee Pierce Smelley.  Welcome to my home on the web.  I have been working on our family tree since January 1999.  I was very fortunate to have had family members that had worked on different branches of my family tree to get me started.  My genealogy file is my interpretation only and may not reflect the same data as other files.  I am open to comments, suggestions and corrections about my family tree.

I believe in "Protecting the Living" and all people in my file born after 1910 without a death date are considered to be living, so they are listed as "Living SURNAME."  You will not find any information about that person.

Many people have notes contained in their note section.  Notes may be documentation, census information, cemetery survey information, marriage index information and etc........ or emails from other people.  This is my way of keeping track of where I found information and may provide clues for making searches in other areas.  Some information in the notes section may only be my attempt at trying to connect that person to other family members.  These types of notes may include census, marriage indexes and etc....... or other information in the same area that the person lived that I have found.  If you come across notes that don't seem to make sense then you are probably reading those types of notes.  Note sections will change as I prove or disprove the information that I have found.

I am willing to share and exchange, but I do not share my "Living Relatives" information.  When you receive a genealogy report from me the endnotes with the sources listed are in tack, so you can note all my sources for each data entry.  Many sources are from exchanging information with others, so do your own research to prove or disprove the information, as I am sure that I have errors in my file.

Thank you for the visit and if you have any questions use the options below to get in touch with me.  While you are visiting please sign my guest book.
