1. William¹ Chambers⁽⁴⁰²⁾ was born 1777.⁽⁴⁰³⁾ William died November 6, 1845 in Indiana. His body was interred after November 6, 1845 in Adams Twp., Decatur Co., IN., St. Omer's Cemetery.⁽⁴⁰⁴⁾

He married Barbara Deem in Campbell Co.,KY, August 5, 1803.(405) Barbara was born about 1777.⁽⁴⁰⁶⁾ She was the daughter of Johan Nicolas Deem and Mary Magthalena Dils. Barbara died October 1, 1846 in Indiana. Her body was interred after October 1, 1846 in Adams Twp., Decatur Co., IN., St. Omer's.⁽⁴⁰⁷⁾ William & Barbara Deem Chambers lived in Preble Co., Ohio about the time Catherine was born. Later, they moved to Shelby Co., Indiana and were both buried at St. Omer's Cemetery in Adams Twp., Decatur Co., Indiana. Probate Order Book E., pg. 363 lists appraisal of William Chambers' personal property on Dec.19, 1845. There is a suite for partition in the Complete Record Book J, in Decatur Co.,IN., May 1846- Sep. 1848, pp. 213-224. This gives the suite for partion of William's estate and lists his heirs. Probate Order Book E. pp. 431-434, has the sale bill of the personal property of William Chambers. On May 9, 1848, in Probate Order Book F, pg. 446 of Decatur Co.,IN., Thomas Deem is appointed to sell real estate to pay off debts of the estate.

William Chambers and Barbara Deem had the following children:

2 i. Mary Polly² Chambers was born in probably Ohio about 1804. Estimated from marriage record. She married William Montgomery in Preble Co., Ohio, December 4, 1823.(408)

3 ii. Catherine Chambers was born in OH 1808. Catherine gives Kentucky as birthplace on 1860 census. Catherine died after 1873. She married Jesse Henderson in OH, January 22, 1829.(409) Preble County, Ohio.

Jesse was born in OH 1808. He was the son of Unknown Henderson. Jesse died after 1860 in Illinois. Jesse was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Noble Twp.,Shelby Co.,IN. Dwl/House 824/837

Jesse's occupation: farmer in IN>IL, 1850. Jesse was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in P.O.Flora, Clay Co.,IL..⁽⁴¹⁰⁾ pg.65, family number 516 (See Jesse Henderson for the continuation of this line.) Catherine (also spelled Katherine) was born about 1808 in Kentucky or Ohio.

4 iii. Jane Chambers was born about 1812. She married Jeremiah Miller in Butler Co.,Ohio, April 29, 1832.(411) Dorris Lagow says Jane Chambers Miller is mentioned in the suite for partition for William Chambers. Jane was also mentioned in the Probate Order Book F, p. 446. Evidently the family did not know her whereabouts, she was to be notified by an ad placed in the GREENSBURGH REPOSITORY, May 9, 1848.

5 iv. Nancy Chambers was born about 1812. Nancy died after 1846. She married Joseph Graham in Preble Co.,Ohio, February 5, 1832.(412) Joseph & Nancy Chambers Graham are mentioned in the suite for partition notes for William Chambers in 1846.

6 v. Williamney Chambers was born about 1813. Estimated from marriage record. Williamney died before 1846. Williamney & her husband are mentioned in the suite for partition in the notes for William Chambers. Williamney was deceased, her children were listed, by name, as heirs. She married Jesse Johnson or Johnston in Butler Co.,Ohio, December 5, 1833.(413)

Jesse was born before 1813. Jesse died before May 1847 in IN. (See Jesse Johnson or Johnston for the continuation of this line.) Williamney & Jesse were both deceased before the spring of 1847, because their children are named as heirs of William Chambers' estate. ORDER BOOK (CIVIL) 7, Page 122. 8 vii. William Jr. Chambers⁽⁴¹⁵⁾ was born before 1824. William & John filed suites in probate for their parts of William Sr.'s estate in 1846, I believe they both were over 21. 9 viii. Barbara Chambers was born about 1826. Barbara died before April 9, 1846. Barbara is mentioned in the suite for partition of William Chambers Estate as deceased, but having a daughter, Barbara Johnson. She married Mr. Johnson before 1846.

10 ix. Julia Ann Chambers was born about 1830. Estimated from marriage date. She married Lewis Cline in Shelby Co.,IN., October 17, 1850.(416) Julia Ann Chambers is mentioned in the notes of the suite for partition for William Chambers. Julia is mentioned on page 115 of Probate Order Book F, Decatur Co.,IN. as buying a large bible at the sale of her mother's personal property. It is assumed that her line still has the Family Bible.

11 x. Alexander Chambers was born before 1831. On probate papers (Probate Order Book E, pg. 460) in Decatur Co.,IN. it states that Alexander is a minor over the age of 14, on May 11, 1846.

12 xi. Margaret Chambers was born before 1832. Probate Order Book E., pg. 460, in Decatur County, Indiana states Margaret Chambers was a minor, but over the age of 14 on May 11, 1846.

13 xii. Thomas Chambers was born in Indiana after 1832. Thomas was included as an heir in the suite for partition, Probate Order Book E., pg. 460, as a minor under the age of 14 on May 11, 1846.

14 xiii. Joseph Chambers was born before 1845.
