Carl August Ferdinand Ziemer
Born in Woedtke-Ruhleben, Kreis Greifenberg,
Pommern, 6 October 1823
Could this be the father of our
immigrant ancestor, Martin Gottlieb Ziemer?
Ziemer researcher Penny Ziemer Ford,
of the Pommern-L group, referred me to this entry in a Church Registry
from the village of Ruhleben near Woedtke (LDS Film # 1334626):
I know, it's like trying to fill
an inside straight in a game of draw poker. I should be working back
from Martin G. Ziemer to discover him and his father in Pommern.
But there are a few reasons why it's possible to think this might be our
ancestor:
And here we have Carl's father: Martin Friedrich Ziemer - Is it a coincidence, or one more link in the family tradition?
NEXT: I need to find a source from the Woedtke/Goerke/Ruhleben area to find a later record of Carl -- ideally Martin G's birth or christening. -- to connect the known to the unknown.
